Architecture & Design
The Renaissance Revival-style hotel was designed by noted architect Robert W. Gibson and erected in 1903. During its heyday in the roaring twenties, special rates were offered to those in the entertainment business, so it became a regular hangout for the entertainers and musicians of the day. The Algonquin Round Table was just around the corner after all.
After falling into hard times in the 1970’s we purchased the hotel and began a loving restoration, maintaining its historical past but with the modern amenities we are used to, like cable and high-speed internet access. We continue to pursue the philosophy of architectural preservation in these modern times.
Our brick and limestone building is classically designed with Palladian windows, balconettes with iron railings, and even more distinct features.
